This month we want to know all about your dinner time ritual. I'll be honest, dinner was never something I cared too much about in the past two years. I often ate without my family, and then prepared their food for them and went to work. Now that our family has gone through so many changes, I have begun to appreciate dinner time all over again. The dinner table is a great place for conversations about how the day went, what the kids did in school, and just a chance to unwind and talk about … [Read more...]

77kids In-Store Shopping Experience {Children’s Fashion}

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting 77kids (the kids brand from American Eagle Outfitters). I was really exited to check it out because they only have a handful of stores located mostly on the east coast. As soon as you spot the store you can tell it's a high energy and edgy shopping experience, and my girls couldn't wait to start shopping. 77kids Basics: I found it interesting to learn that all of the clothes from 77kids are pre-washed. This not only makes the clothing … [Read more...]
Let’s Start A New Tradition {Elf Magic}

This year my children and I have started a new family tradition called Elf Magic. It all started with the kids writing a letter to Santa asking him to send an elf to spend some time with before Christmas. I can't tell you how hopeful my boys were to have Santa send them an elf. They are 7 & 8, so I was really surprised that they got so excited just thinking about our visitor. After writing their letters they put out crackers and water after Thanksgiving dinner, hoping to draw out an … [Read more...]
Gulf Coast Memories & $100 Bass Pro Shops Gift Card Giveaway

I can't believe our time on the beautiful Gulf Coast has come to an end. As I write this we are back in our hometown in NC (equally as beautiful, just in very different ways) and I am already missing the waters of Pensacola. We moved to Pensacola from Cape Cod, and then from Pensacola to Mobile, AL so we we're still fairly close to the beautiful waters. One of the things I love about being a military wife is the ability to experience life in different regions. We have endured the frigged … [Read more...]
How To Get Lipstick Out Of Carpet

Yesterday my daughter smeared Lipstick in the Carpet when she was supposed to be napping. I couldn't even bring myself to clean it while it was fresh (mistake #1) because I was so upset. Not only did she ruin the boys bedroom carpet, she also destroyed my lipstick, blush, eyeliner, and my makeup brushes. Toddlers are notorious for pulling this crap, and this is not the first time this has happened. When my boys were toddlers John poured out every container of my expensive Bare Minerals make up, … [Read more...]
The Children’s Place Outlet: What Can You Buy For $100

I finally broke down and went to the outlets today. Here on the Gulf Coast the weather is really unpredictable. One day (in October) it can be 90 and the next 45, so you never really know what to expect. I have found that the 2nd week in October is usually a good time to break out all of the Fall clothing. When we pulled down all of the clothes from the attic I was feeling pretty good. I knew I would need a new wardrobe because nothing fits from last year (and that's good thing), but the kids … [Read more...]
QCOS Kids Boutique Children’s Clothing

I am fortunate to have both boys and girls, and I can honestly say I love dressing them equally. Most people say girls are more fun to dress, and I guess I would have to disagree. You see I think that both boys and girls are fun to dress, if you know where to shop! When my boys were younger (and I had no girls) I would always get compliments on how nice my boys looked. They were always decked out in adorable children's boutique styles while other little boys got stuck in the basic "trucks and … [Read more...]
Extreme Face Painting 50 Step-By-Step Demos

A few days ago I was contacted about reviewing a super cool face painting book, and I couldn't turn it down. I don't do a lot of book reviews because I don't have a lot of time, but when they are picture books with very few words... well, they fit my busy lifestyle! So as you can see above I have been busy already! I had a blast painting two of my four children's faces within an hour of receiving the book. I am by no means an artist (which probably shows) BUT I would even do this to the … [Read more...]
Do You Let Your Child Choose Their Halloween Costume?

Every Halloween I am faced with the same issue. Wanting to pick out my children's Halloween costumes. I mean I want them to be independent and have a costume they can be proud of but I also want them to wear what I think is cute! For example I love "group costumes" and because we participate in our churches trunk or treat every year group costumes would help me decorate the trunk a little easier! While I don't force my children to wear what I want them to wear, I will not let them dress as … [Read more...]
