I wanted to spend more time exploring my own backyard and today it really paid off. I went to the 2nd Annual Family Fun Day at the Raleigh Executive Jetport in Sanford-Lee County. The Jetport actually opened in October, 2000 and celebrated it’s 10th anniversary by letting people come in and watch the activities. I know that I wrote about the Thomas Wolfe Memorial and how awesome it was, but I can tell you this. Nothing can compete with Mother Nature. After finishing our tour we decided to check out the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina . We started our trip by heading for the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitors Center located at mile post 384 on the parkway. Over the summer my family (minus husband) went to NC to visit our families. Because we are both originally from NC most of our family lives there, so it is always a fun visit. Normally when we travel to see the grandparents we do the same things. Visit where they work, hand out at family members homes, and chillax. I was lucky enough to get to go to the Type-A Mom Conference in Ashville, NC this past weekend with my daughter. While I had a great time at the conference, met many very nice people and learned a lot; I wanted to tell you what I did before the conference.
