I have gotten a few emails asking where I have been, and why I haven’t posted in a while. Fear not, this blog isn’t dead…yet. I don’t plan to stop blogging any time soon, I just haven’t had as much time as I used to. In February I got a new job working for PepsiCo Warehouse Sales as a Gatorade Vendor. This has been quite an experience because the last time I held a job outside of the house was before my oldest son was born (10 years ago). It has been challenging to have to be somewhere every day, and I seriously miss the ability to have total control over my schedule (and time to blog), but I love my job. If I could continue on this path and reach my career goals, I would end up in the marketing department for Gatorade, Tropicana, or Quaker. I love all aspects of marketing, and my dream is to one day create some of the awesome ad campaigns you see on TV, online, or in print.
One of the things I love about this job is that my schedule is still somewhat flexible (it will be much more flexible when I make the move to Fayetteville next month), and it is the type of job where I can really get competitive. While I am not very competitive against other people, I am very competitive against myself. I like to meet goals, and then exceed my latest goals, essentially I like to beat my own high scores. Right now, because I have at least two hours of commute time each day, my social life and my blogging life are virtually non-existent. Thankfully, once I move I will have more time for both.
The one thing I have made time for over the past two weeks has been working out. Before my surgery last year I was doing really well, and was working out almost every day. Since my surgery I worked out weekly, but it was sporadic, and I just couldn’t seem to find the motivation to kill it at the gym. Over the past two weeks I have been seriously pushing myself and thanks to my determination (and the help of a friend) I have started seeing the results I was looking for. I will post a new surgery update soon, along with some swimsuit shots to show you where I am now. Thanks for being patient with me. I can also tell you that as of today I am back to my pre-surgery weight, weighing in a 113, which is pretty awesome considering I have built a good amount of muscle in my arms and legs. So be on the lookout for a new post about that, hopefully by the end of the weekend.
Other than that, I don’t have a ton going on. I just work, work out, come home, and go to bed. I miss you all, and hopefully in April I will be back up and running in full swing. I plan to share some sweet giveaways, and reviews when I get back as well, so here’s to “Springing” back into action! Hope the weather is warming up where you are…
XOXOXOXO.
Shasta
