Change of Style For The New Year

Many people don’t know how to approach the new year. For some, the idea of change can be rather terrifying, even though change and the new year are often associated with one another. Even though change can be difficult, it can be extremely rejuvenating and is more than worth working towards.

If you’re looking to switch up your style, there are a variety of different ways to go about doing so. You might think that changing your style would be costly and time-consuming, but there’s no reason to make this assumption. With the following tips, you’ll be able to save money and change your style at the same time, all without having to stress out about anything.

Ditch Your Usual Color

Everyone has at least one color that they tend to wear on a regular basis. A penchant for a single color can be risky, however, as it often results in a boring, stagnant appearance. By ditching your regular color, you can dramatically increase your chances of turning heads with those who know you.

Look for colors that are not only different from the norm, but those which will also flatter your skin tone. Neutrals are perfect for those who are in their thirties, while brighter colors tend to be more suitable to people in their twenties. Don’t go for a drastic switch at first; small steps are the best way to go about switching up your typical colors.

Take a More Professional Approach

If the clothes you wear on a regular basis tend to be ultra-casual in nature, you probably aren’t impressing anyone. By switching to a more professional wardrobe, however, you can make a big difference in how you are perceived on a daily basis. A more professional approach to putting an outfit together means wearing only pieces that are meant for those in the workforce; “business-casual” ensembles, for example. Brooks Brothers Dress Shirts for men are especially useful, and can have a dramatic impact on one’s overall appearance. For best results, strive to fill your wardrobe with a variety of different colors of dress shirts, as this will help to make you a more versatile dresser.

Shop at a Thrift Store

One great way to switch up your style a bit is to shop at a thrift store. Thrift store shopping allows you to experiment with a great deal of different styles without spending a lot of money on different pieces. Those who are interested in designer clothing will find a lot to love about shopping at a thrift store, as it is a great way to save a ton of money. Just be sure when shopping at a thrift store that you take the time to look each piece over thoroughly, as this will ensure that you don’t purchase a damaged piece.

There’s no reason to view the new year in a negative light. If you vow to make changes that will make you more stylish, you’ll have no reason to worry about how you look in 2013.

  3. I love shopping at thrift stores. Half price Goodwill day is my favorite! You have the ability to find styles that no one else will have and it lets you create a style that is all your own. I even picked my sister up a pair of Prada cords for $3.50!

  4. For years I have always wear dark colored clothes but this post is interesting and got me thinking. I just turned 30 in fall and a mom of 3. It’s time to change my appearance. Sometimes i want to look present but its so hard with 3 boys attached to me. LOL. I went to Old Navy during their 75% sales and I bought 5 or 6 cami’s. I just discovered a new love for scarves, there are different ways to use them. I want to try different color pants such as emerld, red, etc. It’s so modern look. I need to hit thrift stores, funny that it’s right up the street from my house and I live here for almost 3 years and havent been up there but once!
