Tummy Tuck Update Weeks 5-7 {Before & After Pictures}

As you can see my Tummy Tuck is healing rather nicely, and I am very pleased with the results. I had my 6 week check-up last week (it was actually a week late) and the doctor said that I am healing really well, and that I am still pretty swollen. I was a little worried that it was fat, so I was glad to hear that I’m still swollen, because I didn’t want to have to work that off ;) . Seriously though, I have to say that this surgery was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I am so much more confident now than I was before (even with the scar). The scar actually looks much better in person than it does in the pictures. For some reason it comes out really red in the pictures but it’s actually a light pink, and on the sides you can barely see it. It also looks very high in the pictures but most of my panties do cover it up so even if I go swimming indoors this winter the only thing you would see is my belly button scar and honestly I just don’t care!

I have been using the BioCorneum and I can tell that it’s helping so I highly recommend it! I was also told to start massaging the scar around my belly button so it’s not so hard, so I have started doing that as well. I still have no feeling from my belly button down to the incision so I try to be mindful of that when I’m doing ab workouts (although, I can’t help but wonder if it wouldn’t be nice to loose that feeling permanently so I get get killer abs without the pain) ;) .

The only thing I am still having trouble with are pull-ups. Hanging from the bar gives a stretching sensation in my abs that I just don’t feel comfortable with, so for now I just hang there for a few seconds and let go. I know I’ll get back to them eventually so I’m not worried about it.

This is my most recent picture taken at 7 weeks post-op:

I have come a long way in 7 short weeks, don’t you think? Remember these:

I have another appointment in about 6 weeks and by then the majority of the swelling should have subsided and I will have my before and after pics from the office for you to view.

I am so proud of myself for following through with this procedure because while it was scary, and I didn’t know what to expect it was SO worth it. I cannot wait to get into that swimsuit next summer!

  1. One Question…I think it is great what you have accomplished, but how is a tummy tuck and a breast augmentation being frugal? I know you are helping other women out there and that’s great, but that is not being frugal at all.

      Hey Sarah! Thanks for the compliment. I don’t believe I have ever claimed that these procedures are frugal or cheap so I’m not sure why you would ask. If you are referring to my old site name, I have since re-branded and no longer use that name, but I do keep the domain. I started my site by only posting sales and deals, but I rarely do that anymore. Thanks so much for stopping by. :)

  2. I have enjoyed reading your updates! I am having this done in January and your blog has given me some really good information. Are you going to post any more updates? I’d love to see how things are going.

  3. I was wondering how your recovery is going? hope all is well! Been following you and no recent update :( Your so awesome for sharing your adventure! I’m 40 lbs away from doing mine and getting very scared :( 3 C-section and getting up to 215 lbs and only 5’2, my stomach looks like in was mauled by an animal! I’ve heard you won’t get the end result for about 1 year? Pray your getting around wonderfully for your holidays:)

  4. It is amazing how the puckering shrinks away. Looks like the surgery has had good results. Congrats.

  5. WOW — that’s an amazing difference so far; I’m surprised you can already get back into working out …. I would have thought it early. But, I’ve never had a tuck so I don’t know!

  6. The difference is incredible – I can’t believe the progress already. Your surgeon is so skilled and did an amazing job!

  8. Looking wonderful! I always wondered how hard the recovery would be and this is a wonderful look at that.

  9. Wow that is amazing..I have a vertical scar that is wreaking havoc with my skin in my tummy, and so need a tuck!

  15. Wow! I have been enjoying your posts about this over the past 2 months and you look great! I hope I can do something like this once I am closer to my goal weight. I have been doing so much research online and I definitely want to drive into Raleigh to go to your surgeon! x

  16. Wow, I can see a difference! Can’t wait to see it when all the swelling is completely down. Looking good hon!

  17. Have you tried one of those tummy bands? I don’t know if you can combine the two, but in the work out section at Walmart they have them for less then $10. I wore it religiously after my kids and my tummy was flat afterwards. It helped a lot. It’s basically just a tight wrap.
