Small Business Saturday Shopping Trip

I had so much fun shopping on Small Business Saturday. I always enjoy finding new shops, meeting owners, and of course shopping. This Saturday was no different. I went to a new shop I had never visited before, and found that they sold hand-made crafts from NC locals. I was super excited to browse all of the unique gifts and chat a little with the owner. I found out that before renting a store-front she conducted most of her business online. It was very encouraging to hear because one of my dreams is to one day own my own store selling similar items so I thought it was pretty cool. I purchased some wax for my burners and some hand made soaps that smell amazing!

I also enjoyed browsing our local Antique Mall and looking through years of old toys, cameras, and military medals. It’s so much fun to shop at places like this because it brings back old memories, and teaches you a little about the past. I sometimes love seeing how far we have come, but it’s a little bittersweet because I miss the simpler times. I think that’s how I feel about shopping at small businesses, and it’s why I have such a passion for it. It reminds me of a time when people actually knew their neighbors and enjoyed supporting them in their business endeavors.

I hope you were able to venture out after the Black Friday madness and support your community as well.
