I have always enjoyed cleaning. Like most moms there are jobs that I don’t enjoy (laundry, taking out the trash, mopping), but having a freshly cleaned home makes me feel at ease. It gives me a (very brief) sense of accomplishment, and helps me focus on more important things (like the kids who make all those messes).
The only thing I have never really like about cleaning since becoming a mother, was the feeling that I had wiped away the dirt and replaced it with harsh chemicals. I don’t know about your children, but mine are WEIRD! Yeah, I said it! They do things that make absolutely no sense to me at all. Like licking remote controls, or eating off of the floor like a puppy. I don’t know how they think of these things, but I always come in when it’s too late to be stopped. Think about that for a second… a child eating (licking) a floor I just cleaned with ammonia. I think the dirt would be a safer option, what about you?
While I have not decided to go “Oh Natural” and give dirt a home, I have decided to learn more about natural cleaning solutions. Now, I am not recommended my children or yours should start eating ingesting all natural cleaning supplies, obviously children should abstain from eating anything that is not food, BUT at least I know I’m not cleaning my home with poison anymore!
About a month ago I started using Green Works compostable cleaning wipes, toilet bowl cleaner, and all-purpose cleaner and I love them! They clean just like the other brands I have used, and smell even better! As migraines suffer, I appreciate the natural scent of these cleaners! They are not over-powering or ridiculously fruit and floral. Everything just smells CLEAN!
Not only do I feel at ease using these cleaning supplies around my four precious children, I can also relax knowing that I am doing my part to protect and fully utilize our environment every day.
