We suffered a serious loss a few weeks ago. Only now am I able to speak about it without tears.
It started out as a simple hiccup. We tried to feed her a Wii game, and she couldn’t swallow it; but instead continually regurgitated it.
I guess this is that part where I should clarify that it was not as much of a loss as it was a murder.
I KILLED our Wii.
If you know me well you know that I am not the type of person to give up easily. If I believe I can accomplish a task, I will do everything in my power to do so, but if for some insane reason the task is more complicated than I could have imagined… WATCH OUT!
My first mistake was taking the knife to it! I knew I shouldn’t do it, but I just couldn’t resist. I was gentle and chose a butter knife, but this only created a growing obsession; I had to know what was causing the Wii I have grown to love, to act so ungrateful. Here we were offering our time and energy to play with her every day, and this is how she re-payed us?
I refused to accept it.
I had a sneaking suspicion that someone around the age of two had used my gaming beauty as a piggy bank. After some vigorous shaking, I confirmed my suspension (either that or I knocked er shook something loose). There was only one thing left to do, unscrew every screw until I could accurately diagnose her condition. So I took em’ all out, even those funky little screw only the Nintendo people are supposed to remove. Ha take that Nintendo! You can’t stop a woman on a mission.
After unscrewing the console I found a few issues:
- The piggy bank theory proved correct – SCORE (because I was correct, and because I was 12 cents richer)
- A spring popped out when I opened it, never to be found again.
- I finally realized that I had no idea what I was doing, and that it was a job that should have been left to professional.
This is where our story ends. After putting her back together to the best of my ability, she looked like ROAD KILL. I had butchered one of my only means of entertainment.
Fortunately, my mourning has ended and I am able to bring you a giveaway. This is an game I should be playing right now, but instead I have to give it away to one of you lucky Wii owners.
One lucky reader will win Country Dance Wii!
About the game (Hits Stores 3/29):
From chart toppers to CMA winners, the artist roster for GameMill Entertainment’s just announced Country Dance for Wii reads like a veritable “who’s who” of the country music world. The list of country artists who will have families dancing this Spring includes:
- Carrie Underwood, “Cowboy Casanova”
- Brad Paisley, “Water”
- Sugarland, “Stuck Like Glue”
- Trace Adkins, “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk”
- Tim McGraw, “Just to See You Smile”
- Zac Brown Band, “Chicken Fried”
- Rascal Flatts, “Life is A Highway”
- Blake Shelton, “All About Tonight”
- Miranda Lambert, “White Liar”
- Johnny Cash, “Ring of Fire”
“We are thrilled to have such great representation from Nashville’s A-listers on this project,” said Mark Meadows, Vice President of Marketing at GameMill Entertainment. “The caliber of this roster is incredible and we are confident that this is what country music fans have been waiting for. Our music agent DeeDee Drays delivered a list that is unmatched in the music genre and truly sets this game apart from any other dance game available.”
Country Dance is the first game of its kind for country music fans featuring more than 25 smash hits from some of country music’s biggest stars. Players utilize the Wii Remote as they mimic on-screen dance moves to their favorite country tunes and earn points depending on how well the moves are replicated.
“With the popularity of country music and the dance genre, it seemed fitting to come out with a dance game featuring some of country’s most popular artists and songs,” said Gary Miller, President at GameMill Entertainment. “Between the top-notch choreography and chart-topping hits, this game is sure to get the entire country dancing!”
Country Dance supports up to four players, so players can challenge or get in step with their family and friends in the competitive or cooperation modes. Song lyrics are displayed on screen as well so players can belt the high notes to their favorite tunes. Users can customize their character and unlock new songs and rewards as they progress through the game.

I just found your blog site and love it. I found it through IHeartPublix. But I would love to win this game. Santa brought my 7 year old the WII for christmas 2010 and we have not been able to buy many games for it (expensive). I am a huge Country music fan and so is my 7 year ols and my 23 month old. My toddler dances everytime Honky Tonk Badonkadonk comes on so it would be so funny to watch him play this game.
Sorry to her about your WII, but maybe you can find one on craigslist.
