3 Ways You Can Help Your Child’s School:

I have had a great experience up to this point with both of the boy’s teachers! They are amazing, and I find myself wanting to help them in any way I can!

Here are 3 Simple Ways To Help Your Child’s School:

1) Encourage the teachers! Seriously, they work their behinds off, the least we can do as parents is acknowledge that! (Think- thank you notes, small gifts have your child make a home-made card). Any of these things can help brighten a teacher’s day! And as the new saying goes “When the teacher is happy, everyone is happy”! LOL

2) Volunteer to be a “Room Mom” or Teacher’s Helper. They have so much to do, planning parties, preparing welcome booklets, and shopping for treasure box materials should not be on their “To Do” list! Even if you have younger children at home you can shop for supplies!

3) Find out what the teachers or school need and make an investment in them. Maybe they need jackets for children who don’t have them, a see-saw for the play ground. You may not be able to afford a new gym, but you can provide in little ways! The school PTA is usually a great way to help with things like this!

There are my tips… What do you do to help your child’s school?

It does seem like there is always just a few parents that help out and I was one of them. I do wish more parents would give just bit of their time. I know that it takes 2 incomes to survive these days but their are so many other ways a parent can contribute other than giving their time.

This is great. Teachers are so under-appreciated. Before my baby was born, I used to help out a lot in the classrooms but with a little one in tow, it became a much more difficult task. Now all of my kids are homeschooled so it's just me, myself, and I. :-)

I think this is an outstanding article – great suggestions. Our teachers do work hard and at least here, there is always a threat of being laid off, so I do think we as parents should show our appreciation for them.

I think by appreciating the teachers you are setting a really great example to your kids and helping them to respect their teachers more. My mom spoke bad about my teachers and it made it difficult for me to want to obey them!

Ooh I like all of those tips!

When my son was in elementary school and I'd drive him, I would sometimes show up a half hour early to pick him up. I'd use that time to go in the classroom and just ask the teacher what he or she needed help with that day. There were always additional tasks to be done with my impromptu visits.
