This book grabbed me on page one of the Prologue. Robin jumped right into this story quickly with the very first sentence she wrote. By the time I finished the prologue, I could not wait to see what would happen next. From there we meet Lincoln Vailes who has just moved back to a small town in Louisiana and changed careers to be closer to his ailing father. Enter Jade Laurent, the young social worker who wants to make a difference and help people who believe there is no help for them. We then meet Guerrero. He is the president of the Pantheras gang in Philadelphia that he joined at age 14.
In this book you will feel sympathy for Lincoln and his struggles, you will grow to understand what drives Jade to do what she does and come to know the president of the gang in another city. There is police action, domestic struggles and gangland decisions that need to be made. As you fly through this book from each suspense to the next you will be unable to put it down. It is amazing that Robin was able to write such a gripping tale in a Christian way that keeps you glued to this book. It is a great read and I can’t wait to see what she will write next.
